How to Create Modifiers

This article outlines the steps to take to create modifiers for individual products. Modifiers create customizations to any of your products.

​1. Log into your store and select Manager

2. Click on Manage Modifiers

3. Ensure you are in the correct price list and select Create Modifier

4. Enter the Modifier Display Name, e.g. Pizza Toppings

5. Choose from the Type selector:

Modifier - Choosing "Modifier" from the Type selector will add the modifier in the same line as the product when creating an item export from the Order Manager, e.g. Bacon is the modifier for Fresh Meatloaf

Product - Choosing "Product" from the Type selector will create a separate line item for the modifier when creating an item export from the Order Manager, e.g. Item 3 is the modifier for Beyond Meat Sausage 

 

6. Choose Yes or No options from "Single Selection" and "Required". If "Single Selection" is set to "No", you can either leave Max Selection at 0 (0 = unlimited) or you can enter a max amount of modifiers for the item

Logic for the toggles are as follows:

• Single selection NO and required NO = Any amount of modifiers may be selected but modifiers are not required to add to cart

• Single selection NO and required YES = At least 1 modifier must be selected to add to cart

• Single selection YES and required NO = Only 1 modifier may be selected but the modifier is not required to add to cart

• Single selection YES and required YES = Only 1 modifier may be selected and the modifier is required to add to cart

7. Click on Add Option

8. Fill in the fields starting with "Option Display Name". This will display the name of the modifier, e.g. pepperoni  

9. Enter the price of the modifier. If there is no cost enter 0

10. Enter the UPC if applicable

11. Choose Tax Modification if applicable

12. You may add as many modifiers as necessary by selecting Add Option and following steps 8-11 above

13. Once done select Create Modifier

14. Next, click on Products Linked To Modifier

15. Click on Add Product

16. Search for the product(s) that the modifiers will be added to. Once the product(s) has been found, click anywhere in the row to select it. Note that you can select multiple products if they all have the same modifiers

17. Click on Confirm

18. Click on Save

19. Click on Back

20. Your modifier(s) has been created! This will take you back to the list of all modifiers

21. The modifier(s) should be visible on the product within in a few minutes, however this can take up to an hour 

22. You may add separate modifier groups for the same product by following steps 1-18 and choosing the same product from the product list, e.g. the first modifier group is Pizza Toppings with the list of available toppings and the second group is Pizza Crust with the list of crust options
