This article will assist you in creating preorders. A preorder promotion is a promotion where you can create an order window for your customers to place their order prior to a specific fulfillment date.
Before you begin, make sure you have a Preorder Pricelist created*, the correct Pricelist is selected, and add any new products to that Pricelist. Once you are ready to go, log into your store and navigate to the Manager dashboard.
*If you need to enable a new Preorder Pricelist, please contact support@gethomesome.com.
1. Click on Manage Promotions

2. Ensure you are using the correct Pricelist
- Please note you may edit the name of an existing Pricelist, but If you'd like to create a new Pricelist please contact support

3. Click on Add Promotion

4. Create a name
- This name is internal only and can be used to find and manage the promotion

5. Enter a name for the field "Show Under Category"
This field is visible to customers. You can either enter an existing category or enter a new category name which will be added to the shop's homepage page under the search bar

6. Create a start date
- The start date is the date the promotion will be visible to customers

7. Create an end date
- This will be the last day the promotion is visible to customers

8. Enter 0 in this field

9. Click on Create

10. Click on Add Items Group

11. Enter a Name
- This is for internal use only and won't be visible to customers

12. Enter a name for the field "Show Under Category"
You can either leave this field blank and the system will default to the main product category, or you can create a new category name which will be visible to customers

13. Select Preorder from the Promotion Type

14. Select a start date for order fulfillment
- This will be the date customers can begin to pickup their orders

15. Select an end date
- This will be the last day customers can pickup their orders

16. Click on Create

17. Click on Select Items

18. Select the products that are part of the promotion
- If a product is greyed out, it means the product is inactive
- Make sure to add new products to the pricelist prior to creating the preorder

19. Click Back

20. Enter a Max Quantity
- This is the availability of a product. For example, if you only have 100 pies to sell the max quantity would by 100
- For unlimited quantities of a product enter 0

21. Click on Save
Note: A confirmation message won’t appear, but once the button is greyed out, the deal has been successfully saved.

22. Click on Back

23. Click on Activate to activate the preorder
- Once activated the promotion will automatically go live during the promotion start date that was selected in Step 6

24. Click on Back

25. Now you're done and the preorder will be visible in the list of promotions. You can select it at anytime to edit the details.
